The Caduceus or Wand of Hermes is often used as a symbol for medicine or doctors. Apparently this is a common mis-use of a symbol originally representing Commerce to the Ancient Greeks. Hermes was not only the messenger of the gods and guide to the dead, but was the protector of merchants, gamblers, liars and thieves. This gives these cufflinks a very wide range of uses - wear them as you will.
